Eavan O'Dochartaigh
Archaeological Illustrator
Based near Cork, Ireland, I have many years experience working as an archaeological illustrator and am a full member of the Association of Archaeological Illustrators and Surveyors (MAAIS).
I have 16 years of commercial and research archaeology experience, working variously as a GIS specialist, illustrator, consultant and field archaeologist. During my academic career I have been awarded scholarships and bursaries from The Icelandic Ministry of Culture and Education, The Cambridge European Trust and The Arts and Humanities Research Council (UK). I have illustrated artefacts for notable clients such as The National Museum of Ireland and The National Museum of Iceland.
My most recent role, at Headland Archaeology, included managing the GIS component of large projects and the production of graphics for reports, displays and publication. I also work as project illustrator and teacher on a seasonal basis for the high profile research excavations and field school at Hólar, Iceland. |
